The Windows Taskbar is a very handy feature on a Windows PC. The Windows Taskbar is the equivalent to the "Dock" on a Mac computer. The arrow in the screenshot below points to the Taskbar. Shortcuts to favorite software or file folders can be saved here as well as accessing a menu to many other features and functions.
Add/Create icons on the Taskbar:
To create a shortcut on the Taskbar to a software program right click on the software icon and select "Pin to Taskbar." You can also drag a software icon down to the Taskbar. Open software will always be displayed on the Taskbar whether it has been pinned to the Taskbar or not.
Windows Side by Side:
The Windows Taskbar also gives you access to multiple other feature and functions. All you have to do is right click in a empty area of the Taskbar and a menu will appear. (see #2 screenshot below) Make sure you only have two programs open when using the side by side feature.
Show the Desktop:
You can also right click on the Taskbar and select "Show the Desktop."
