Color calibration: it's emerald but it looks chartreuse on my monitor?!!
As graphic designers we rely on our computer monitors - they are our "canvas" for designing. Buying the largest monitor you can afford, both money- and space-wise, makes your task easier and more enjoyable. Happy Valentine's Day
Happy Valentine's Day!
All of us a Minutes Matter would like to wish everyone a Happy Valentine's Day! What special things do you do on Valentine's Day? Jerry and I are looking forward to seeing a play. House Cleaning on the Forum Has Begun!
We decided it was time to do some MAJOR house cleaning on our forum. We have deleted thousands of old and irrelevant threads/posts. We have also tried to simplify navigation in the forum. You'll notice, Studio only has two forums and QuickBooks has one forum. It is super easy to post a question in either forum, since both forums only have one area to post a question. The section for both forums is "General Questions."
Both Studio & QuickBooks forums have a "Resources &... -

...
After almost two weeks of our forum being down, it is finally working again. We knew we would encounter some problems when we decided to switch hosting companies for ALL of our websites, but we didn't expect two weeks of downtime for the forum. You never know how much you appreciate something until it's gone. Our website hosting company is now BlueHost. This month I would like to direct your attention to a project that this talented designer undertook to benefit disadvantaged citizens in her area. She recruited many volunteers and generous sponsors to work together to completely revamp her county community shelter.
Wanda notes: Congratulations, Wanda, on such a successful project that will help so many people. Read more abou... -

in EventsLearning to Work in the Clouds
Thursday, I conducted a live seminar for the WCAA Atlanta Chapter "Learning to Work in the Clouds." Almost everyone was surprised at the new opportunities that are available for businesses. Working with cloud based software can be extremely efficient and very cost effective. Google Apps is one of my biggest recommendations for a business owner. We discussed in detail the pros and cons. There's not too many cons. Here are some of the topics that were discussed during the seminar...
