If you use a lot of imported images and erase the background using the Photo Knockout tool, you may find that the photo makes it difficult to access the images behind it. This also happens with large text boxes which are transparent. To fix this, right click on the photo and use the protection feature to prevent selection.
When you want to protect an image with the same name as other images in your rendering, it's a good idea to rename the image first. Right click on the image and choose Text. Give the image a distinctive name.
Here's a trick to locate an image which you protected from selection but forgot to rename and can't find because there are a dozen others with the same name:
Use your keyboard shortcut - Control/A to select all images; then press Control/G to group. Open the Image List and you'll see that one image isolated all by itself. Click Protect to unprotect from selection. Then ungroup all the other images and proceed with your drawing.
